Mahota Makes its Mark in Fashion
When people think of Mahota Textiles, some think of our blankets and purses. Others see the word “textiles” and visions of fabric bolts, materials and yarns pop into their minds. Both are correct, but Mahota Textiles is more than just that! We are fast becoming a staple in the luxury world, especially with consumers who want items with a Native American motif. If that isn’t enough, Mahota is blowing the doors wide open into the fashion world as well!
Recently, Native Max Magazine, the country’s first publication to feature Native fashion, traveled to Sulphur, Oklahoma from Colorado to write a feature story on Mahota Textiles. While Native Max started as a print magazine, it is now a digital media company that spans across print, web, digital, mobile, social, and more. Even though the fashion world is its primary focus, they also feature the culture and lifestyle of Indian country. They combine style with substance and highlight the who’s who in the Native world and businesses.
During the visit, Native Max was able to learn more about the Mahota story and understand the essence of the products being offered. After an initial meeting and seeing and feeling the merchandise, a photoshoot was set. The first of three locations selected was the First Americans Museum in Oklahoma City. We love the professionalism and work that goes into fashion shows and photoshoots and saw firsthand how Mahota Textiles belongs not only in the retail industry but also in the high-end fashion world!
Check out our behind-the-scenes images from the photo shoot and see how well our Mahota products pair perfectly with high-end fashion! Mahota products featured in the photoshoot included our scarves, totes, purses, blankets, and cosmetic bags.
